Webmaster When i put together my first metal shed it was an Arrow Shed brand and this was about 15-20 years ago. This has been a high point in my life and i love to tell the story about how after all the work involved - i installed the side panels upside down as was pointed out to me by these sleazy people i hired to pour a concrete slab for me. So what i did was to pay these shed guys $100 cash to lift the upper roof attachment after i unscrewed the top portion and this allowed me to quickly pull out the side panels and turn them right side up and reinstall them. This worked out just fine and allowed the sides of the shed to shed rain properly. Lesson is: Be sure and install the side panels correctly for maximum benefit of having a shed to protect your belongings. If you want you can live in these sheds and even install a small wood stove. You'll have to use some ingenuity for installing the stove jack in the roof or side wall, but it can be done safely.

Arrow Oakbrook Storage Building ACE HARDWARE   One thing to keep in mind about buying a large and heavy item like a metal shed from Ace Hardware is that "delivery is only available to your local Ace store". And purchases do not include assembly or delivery from the store. I could not find a lot of metal sheds at Ace Hardware.   6. Global Industrial GLOBAL INDUSTRIAL   Global sells two metal storage sheds as far as i can tell. They sell many other industrial type items and i have ordered from them previously and have had no problems with them. Their metal sheds are different than most i have seen. They appear to be quite heavy duty. The picture on the right is of Global's "Galvanized Steel Outdoor Storage Shed" 699 CF (9'2"W X 12'6"D X 7'1"H) and believe it or not is sold on Amazon.com.

  8. Shed Floors SHED FLOORS   This is the only way to build a shed in my humble opinion. I have used similar systems in the past to raise my shed above the ground. This system allows for much easier leveling. This information here is referring to the blocks used under the shed platform in the picture on the right. It is called a "Floating Foundation", i guess because it appears to "float in the air" but is actually supported by notched top cinder blocks under the support boards (floor joists). This website has some very good info and good pictures.

  9. Lowes LOWE'S   Lowe's sells this very basic metal storage shed which i like a lot - the Arrow Sheds "Piedmont". It is 10ft x 8ft steel storage building. You can buy a floor kit for it (Arrow Sheds Floor Frame Kit for 8' x 8', 10' x 8' & 10' x 9' Bldgs ARR FB109) or build a floor platform out of 2x4 or 2x6 lumber and cover with 3/4" plywood or some other good flooring material. I have always been able to elevate the shed off the ground using cinder blocks to allow for air circulation underneath. Lowe's now has a pretty large inventory of metal sheds plus many others as well. The picture at the right is the Arrow 10' x 14' x 7'2"H Lindale Steel Storage Building, Item #92737, Model: LX1014. I think you can buy your metal shed online and they will have the shed ready for you very quickly at the store for your pick-up.

  11. Arrow Floor Frame Kit THE HOME DEPOT   The Home Depot sells Arrow Sheds, but seems to carry a slightly different line of metal sheds than does Lowes. I think you can order Arrow Sheds online with The Home Depot. The picture on the right is of the Arrow Floor Frame Kit (Foundation Kit): Fits 8 X 8, 10 X 7, 10 X 8, 10 X 9 and 10 X 10 FT Size Metal Storage Buildings. Model FB109. I have personally used this floor frame and it worked very well for me. Actually, i like it better than a concrete pad. You lay some sheets of plywood on top of the frame struts if i remember correctly. You can buy this frame at the Home Depot and probably Lowes also.

  14. Arrow Oakbrook Shed NORTHERN TOOL   A good selection of prefabricated "Arrow" brand metal sheds. Click on "tarps + covers" then click on "sheds". They also sell "fast framer" kits (item #18343) and instant garage shed-in-a-box. The picture on the right is of the Arrow Oakbrook Storage Building — 10ft. x 14ft. The Arrow Oakbrook storage building features a high gable roof for extra storage and headroom—nearly 7 feet. Easy assembly.

    When i was younger and delivering bulk potable water on the high desert in Southern California - i met a family who had lost everything in a bad business deal, and they were forced to live on their vacant 10 acre desert parcel of land in one of these Arrow metal sheds.
